The Truth About Six Pack Abs was written by Mike Geary (picture on the right). Mike is a Certified Nutrition Specialist and a Certified Personal Trainer. The Truth About Six Pack Abs is probably the bestselling "abs" program on the Internet. It has sold over 400,000 copies worldwide. Their newsletter has about 700,000 subscribers!  The program has been around since 2004, and has an excellent track record. There are many testimonials from users (not just on their own site), but from user blogs. There is a lot of marketing and hype behind it, but is it true and is it real?

Those two points are not revolutionary, but I did find a good number of ideas that I didn't know . Those facts helped me save a lot of time, as I was not spending time doing the things that really matter. And avoiding that foods that really mattered. You could diet and exercise yourself. But the program provides a step-by-step guide on how to do it. It provides a structured plan. Information and right information is the key. Mike Geary writes to eliminate many of the myths of dieting and exercise. In my opinion, having read many many books on the subject, he will save you time. Yes, you could do this on your own. But Mike puts all this information together in straightforward plan. If you buy this, you are buying good information on a healthy lifestyle and a structured plan on how to achieve six pack abs.

  • You will have to work hard and exercise. You have to commit to 3 moderate/high intensity workouts per week. 
  • Lots of information in the book. It can be overwhelming. You have to read a lot of information and be educated before Mike gives you a plan. This is frustrating, as you really just want to get started. 
  • Many of his propositions contradict the generally accepted guidelines of the USDA Food Pyramid, which emphasizes grains and starches.
  • Some folks have complained of the difficult in obtaining a refund if they choose to return it.

Up until about 2 years ago, I used to train a lot – running and lifting weights in the gym – 3-4 times per week, each session about 2+ hours. I was getting stronger and stronger and my distance running was improving a lot but I could never shift the fat.. no matter how hard I tried.

Anyway, I am down now to between 7-8% body fat (according to my Tanita scale), have lost a total of 3-4 inches in the waist, lost a total of about 24 lbs, and got my 6 pack abs! I want to pass along my complete satisfaction with the program outlined in your book.  I started the Truth About Abs program weighing 180 lbs and 24% body fat with a 35 inch waist.  I had never seen my abs in my life.  Until two years ago I was an avid cardio runner but I never could lose the weight on my stomach and thighs.  Eventually I gave up running and started putting on the pounds.

Of course, this isn't a miracle book, the information is good, you just can't expect to lose 10kg in one month, and see the 6 pack and all that: real information, what we all need =)

I'm not sure why Amazon lists the item but says it is currently unavailable. It's really misleading to people who want the product. I ordered my copy from Mike Geary's direct site. I'm just a normal customer, I don't work for the man. I ordered his ebook and got it right away. I paid through clickbank and got the 60 day guarantee. I paid $39.95, which is an amazing investment in my opinion, and its been working great for me. I've been using his diet plan and work out plan for a month and I've lost 15 pounds and I feel great! Again, I'm not Mike Geary or someone who knows him or works for him. I'm a regular consumer who has had a horrible time losing weight. I've finally found something that works and I vouch for it. This is the website I ordered from [...]. It does have have a 60 day money back guarantee. How do I know this? A friend of mine ordered this same ebook but was deployed 3 weeks after she started the program. She received a full refund. 

I'm sorry to hear that some of you had bad experiences and amazon isn't selling the book but the website sells the ebook and it's great. Check it out if you want. I highly recommend this product. 

No secrets or surprises, November 9, 2011 (amazon.com review)

I'll whine about marketing later; that does not factor into my 2-star score. This is a review of the book bought off the site since you can't buy it here.

There are no secrets in this book you haven't seen before. This gets two stars instead of one since it still has value for someone who hasn't read a GIGL (Glycemic Index/Glycemic Load) diet book before, or a book on how to exercise correctly. If you're new to this approach, this book is just like all the others. Maybe not as well-written, but it's about the same. Having read a few GIGL/low carb diet books (it's all the same), there's nothing here that's nutritionally news to anyone.

Honestly, this could have been a 5 page e-book with the same value. It comes with a "try it for $4.95" deal, and I'll be telling them to take their book and shove it.

UPDATE:

I requested a refund (as I said I would) and while they didn't cancel my order, they did send me a refund when I asked why I was charged for the balance after canceling.

Now, a few people have commented about their marketing. I agree; they look to me like they're taking the low road. Just try looking for a genuine review starting with Google. When buying, you have to click past several (3 for me) pages of THIS SAYS I'S A FREE BONUS BUT REALLY IT COMES WITH SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO BUY BUT IT'S COOL BRO items. 

Really useful book, January 11, 2012  (amazon.com review)

I've borrowed this book from my friend, so I didn't have to pay. I've read few other books before and tried few different diets. What this book suggests really works on me. The materials are well organized, all the exercises are well described and pictured. The book is very consistent and mostly free of BS. There is no magic or secret, you still have to work very hard to make yourself fit. After 1 month working by this book I feel significant difference. Good luck!

This product appears on Amazon for FREE ADVERTISING only. I honestly believe this product will NEVER EVER be sold on Amazon.com. Instead I am quite certain it has been deliberately placed here and shown as "CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE" to make people like me!, search for this man's website and buy the product there. If you do that, you will not have the same rights of refund provided by Amazon.com! 

I found this product marked as "currently unavailable" on Amazon.com and immediately looked further - beyond Amazon, until I found Geary's website. I immediately fell for the slick sales talk. I purchased the trial offer for GBP £27:57 but after several weeks NOTHING arrived! So I went back to Geary's website and found his contact email address. 

I sent a very polite message asking when I might expect delivery but all I got was an Auto-Reply apologising for it being an Auto-Reply - but explaining they get so many emails they can't cope! I contacted them again and got the same message again. 

Within these auto-replies was an invitation to visit different sites - which I did, but they all contain that same contact email address which generates the same Auto-Reply! I even sent my same message ten times in quick succession thinking somebody might notice - but all I got was ten replies identical to every reply received so far.

Great way to lose weight and NOT diet, December 16, 2011  (amazon.com review)

This is a concise book which explains some really simple concept to eat health (NOT DIET), reduce your appetite and do effective exercise to lose weight and increase you RMR. I got this book because I plateaued in my weight lost. I started at 225lbs but after reaching 210-215 after 7 months of dieting, I couldnt lose anymore weight. I followed this books basic concepts, got a gym membership and 5 months later I weigh 185. It did take 6-8 weeks to get below 205lbs, but once I did the weight started falling off with only 1-3 days/week at the gym doing basic sprints, free weights and leg presses. I highly recommend this book. (I purchased the e-book.)
